raising interest in nature.

Emotional arguments or political agendas often get between a reader and the facts. Our objective is to help the collective global community get more comprehensive access to information at the intersection of sustainability and economics.

Behind this effort are three individuals focused on science communication who want to untangle the complexities of the natural world to spark awareness, motivation, and creativity in our readers. While our appreciation of nature overlaps, our individual perspectives on the topic come from the varied lenses of psychology, philosophy, marketing, design, and finance. We therefore aim to unlock unique and innovative – yet sound and actionable – proposals on environmental topics, while leaving space for an active discourse. Free of affiliations, allegiances, or obligations, we advocate for leaving our planet in an equal or better condition than how we inherited it. Given the abundance of technology and resources globally, we believe humanity can continue to progress without exhausting the Earth, or stomping on the brakes of advancement.

Our articles are our two cents, and we view asset.earth primarily as the foundation of a community. When we add our thoughts to the two cents of everyone else, we believe we can deliver real value with the change that these shared cents can make.

michael murawski.

Originally a Finance graduate, Michael gathered a wealth of experience across consulting firms and international banks, focusing on renewable energy and sustainable agroforestry investments in Africa and Europe.

In 2020, he questioned whether he should volunteer for local tree-planting initiatives or research the latest reforestation financing concepts as part of a master’s degree. Convinced that our green friends are criminally underrated and deserve more love, Michael chose both and ultimately dreamed up asset.earth.

sascha brumm.

Sascha is our environmental psychologist. After studying in Germany, the UK, and Japan, he worked for the UN Office for Sustainable Development in South Korea before moving into management consulting at BCG where he focused on climate and sustainability projects in the energy, chemicals, and public sector. Now he has moved to Tokyo to find and evaluate the true value of food as part of his PhD research at the United Nations University and University of Tokyo. Sascha is your guy for asset evaluation and management—unless it’s within the actual financial market. Better to ask him for vegan recipes instead.

andrew moughalian.

Andrew’s career started in graphic design, but with a penchant for perfection he transitioned into project management. Later, the call of creativity beckoned again, but this time in the realm of marketing. His last stop before graduate school was at a non-profit organization where he utilized all his collective experience toward the preservation of Armenian cultural heritage. One constant in his life has been his love and respect of the natural world. He spends much of his free time photographing plants, animals, and insects—an activity which always results in a deepening awe for the environment.
